On the Job: Scher’s Bridal Shop

It’s something some little girls dream of becoming when they get older, a beautiful bride. Walking into Scher’s Bridal Shop is like walking into a bridal wonderland. From wedding gowns to bridesmaid dresses, there are endless options. Just what newly engaged Sarah Sharpley needs. Sarah is recently engaged to her boyfriend Kyle Derrickson.

Sarah and Kyle have known each other since high school but reconnected during junior year of college. After dating a little over a year, at this year’s Chincoteague Christmas parade, Kyle had a huge surprise planned and he waited the entire parade before popping the big question.

Santa, who was riding on a fire truck, stopped and got off to hand Sarah a present she would never forget. After opening the small gift box, Sarah pulled out an ornament that said “Will You Marry Me?” on it. Kyle quickly then got down on one knee and asked if she would be his wife.

Now that we know all about the couple, it was time to try on some dresses! Being a bridal consultant means getting up close and personal with your client. Consultants actually go inside the dressing rooms with you and help you step into the dresses, zip them up, and pin them back if they are too big.

After trying on about five dresses, it was confirmed. Sarah looked good in everything! But of course what’s a dress without a veil and a sparkly tiara? Scher’s has so many to choose from varying in length and details.

On to the next dress! It was so hard to give Sarah feedback because she looked stunning in every pick! She did manage to find a few that she liked but Kyle will have to wait until November 19th to what Sarah finally chooses! Sorry Kyle!
