Ocean City asks property owners to report storm losses

A local town is encouraging residents to report storm damages, following the the historic coastal storm that hit the area in January.
The Town of Ocean City says is asking home owners and businesses to contact the Office of Emergency Management, if their property was damaged during the storm.
Officials say they are looking for the type and extent of loss experienced as a direct result of the weather incident, including losses in business because of having to close. All of the information collected will be passed on to the Maryland Emergency Management Agency, to figure out what areas may require assistance in the recovery process.
“The Town of Ocean City suffered various damages from winter storm Jonas, which was a dangerous coastal/winter storm that impacted our entire region and state,” stated Ocean City Emergency Services Director Theobald. “We are asking our business and property owners to assess damages that may have occurred during this weather incident and report them to us to ensure we have a clear and comprehensive picture of the impact in Ocean City.”
Ocean City residents and business owners can contact the Emergency Management Office at 410-723-6616 or the Planning and Community Development Department at 410-289-8942, with information. The deadline for reporting information to the Ocean City Emergency Management Office is Friday, March 4, 2016.
