Not your normal proposal, but arguably one of the best

It’s a day most little girls dream of, the day you get engaged. Although for Petty Officer Katherine Miller, the way she got engaged isn’t how they write it up in story books, because she’s the one who proposed.

With the help of Creative Day Spay in Ocean City, Md. Miller planned a surprise proposal for her boyfriend, Petty Officer Aaron Hill.

Twenty minutes before Miller and Hill were scheduled to have their couples massage, Miller and the Creative Day Spa staff set up the massage beds to spell out “Will you marry me?”

In order to explain the camera to Hill, 47 ABC told him we were there to shoot a commercial for the spa.

Hill was completely sold. When we asked if the couple had ever been in a commercial before, he said that he had been a Gerber baby when he was younger.

After getting set up in the massage room, Miller led Hill up the stairs to the room where she popped the big question. Hill, said yes.

“I’m just blown away and I get that feeling that girls feel that ‘Oh my god yes!’,” Hill said after the proposal.

“I’m so happy he said yes, he would have been in trouble if he said no,” Miller said. “He’s just everything I want, everything I need. He takes care of me. I just couldn’t see myself with anybody else.”

Hill said he had no problem with how the big question was popped.

“This is going to be the better story at the table now when we all have the talk. It’s different, and like us, we’re different and I just… one for the books, one to remember for life and I’m grateful and thankful for it,” Hill said.

Creative Day Spa said this was the first proposal done in their spa.
