Nixon & Warriors Rip Washington

The Pocomoke boys basketball team picked up a road win Thursday night when they defeated Washington 65-51. The win improves the Warriors to 15-1, while the loss drops the Jaguars to 9-7. 

Pocomoke would jump out to a quick lead after Tyler Nixon was giving the Jaguars guards fits. He come up with steal after steal in their full court press, leading to easy scores. Eventually, the Jags would settle in and find a bit of a rhythm from the outside. Jordan Sterling would hit a long ball, as would Montraz Oliver as they would get within 3 points at the break. Pocomoke would take over in the third quarter though. LiCurtis Whitney muscled in a couple buckets down low, as Jerrick Johnson would add a couple in the paint as well as Leander Roberts. Once Pocomoke created seperation, Tyrone Matthews would put the game away, slashing to the basket for a couple buckets, and icing the game at the free throw line down the stretch. 

Washington returns to work Tuesday when they host Arcadia, while Pocomoke
