Mother arrested after child’s near overdose in Cambridge

A Cambridge mother is facing child neglect charges, after Police say her child ate a controlled dangerous substance.
Cambridge Police say on Thursday, Officers responded to a home on Light Street for reports of a small child possibly overdosing. Once on scene, Officers say they learned that a child had ingested a controlled dangerous substance. The child was then rushed to the hospital, where they are currently being observed by medical staff and is in stable condition.
Cambridge Police tell 47 ABC that lab tests are pending, but that they believed that the child consumed Suboxone, which is used to help treat opiate addiction.
Police say they then searched the home, and arrested the child’s mother, 31-year-old Tiffany Wilson. She was charged with two counts of possession-not marijuana, possession of marijuana, two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, and child neglect.
Wilson is being held on a $15,000 bond at the Dorchester County Detention Center.
