Mallone Explodes For 47 In Eagles Wild Win

DaJuan Mallone had some good shooting nights before, but he had never been in a zone like this before. The guard exploded, finishing with a career high 47 points, including 8 3’s as he single handily powered North Dorchester past Saint Michaels in the first round of the Maryland State Tournament.

The Eagles only dressed 5 players to start the game, and they knew going in they were going to need a big effort from their 2 headed monster of Mallone and Daquan Johnson. The duo would answer the call. The pair had 16 points in the first quarter alone as North Dorchester grabbed a quick lead. The Saints would continue to battle in the second quarter despite the deficit, getting good contribution from Brandon Kerrigan and Devin Stanford.

Mallone though was just getting started. He continued to shoot the ball well in the second quarter, pouring in 13 more before halftime. Then he got red hot in the 3rd quarter, connecting on 5 threes there, before going on to hit one from near mid court to end it in the 4th. Two Eagles players would then foul out in the 4th, forcing North Dorchester to finish the game with just 3 players. Mallone continued to have the hot hand, and the lead would just to great as they were able to close it out for the win.
