Mainline Improvement Project on track to finish in Sept.

The Mainline Improvement Project is on track to be completed this September, according to transportation officials.
The project involves widening a four-mile stretch of Route 26, also known as Atlantic Avenue, from Clarksville to the Assawoman Canal.
Ken Cimino, construction manager and public outreach coordinator for the project, says drainage pipes and inlets have been completed with the exception of a few small sections.
At a meeting Tuesday, officials announced the old roadway along the north side of Route 26 has also been removed between Roxana Road and Powel Farm Road.
Roadway widening is set to begin on Whites Neck Road in March.
A meeting will be held April 12 at the Bethany Beach Town Hall at 10 a.m. to discuss further updates.
