Lady Hawks storm back in third to overtake DSU

The UMES women’s basketball team snapped a two game losing streak, defeating MEAC rival Delaware State 70-61 in Memorial Hall on Saturday afternoon.
The Lady Hawks were led by Mo Subritzky, who finished with 21 points, including 15 in the third quarter, pushing the Hawks to come from behind and finish the quarter on a 23-7 run. Freshman guard Cyani Byrom scored 20 points, while reserve guard Alexus Hicks netted 11. Delaware State was led by N’Kayah Kersey and Micah Aldridge, who finished with 14 points a piece.
Both teams are back in action on Monday, UMES will travel to DC to take on Howard, while DSU heads to Baltimore to face Coppin State.
