Information sought in Georgetown street robbery investigation

Police are looking for information, after a man was apparently boxed in, and robbed, with driving in Georgetown.

Delaware State Police say on Sunday afternoon, around 4:45 PM, a 34-year-old man was driving on Warrington Road, and came to a stop at Asbury Road. While stopped, Police say two vehicles blocked in the 34-year-old’s so he couldn’t pull away.

Three men then apparently jumped out of one of the vehicles, one armed with an unknown type of handgun, and stood in front of the car, pointing it at the victim, while the other two opened doors on his car. According to the report, once the suspects opened the doors, they demanded money, and started punching the victim in the face, while taking his wallet from his pants.

Police say the suspects then jumped back into their vehicle, described as a red Ford Bronco and drove onto Ashbury Road, with the second vehicle, described as a black Chevrolet Silverado, following right behind. The victim was apparently slightly injured in the incident, but he was still able to call 911 for help. Police don’t have much of a description on the suspects, only that there were three men, one of which was armed with a handgun.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact Detective K. Archer at 302-752-3791 or Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIP-3333. Tips can also be send via text to 274637 (CRIMES) using the keyword “DSP.”
