Hot Shooting Warriors Cruise Past Clippers

The Mardela girls basketball team picked up a conference win at home Thursday when they defeated Bennett 57-29. The win improves the Warriors to 10-5, while the loss drops the Clippers to 3-12.
The Warriors would jump out to a quick lead as their two headed monster had it going. Taylor Ross would connect on two 3’s in the first quarter alone, while Arieonna Joynes would connect on a couple short range jumpers, while also getting to the rack for a couple quick scores. Mardela would open up a doudle digit lead, til the Clippers finally found their footing. Breanne Hall would connect on a couple shots herself in transition as she would score 4 of her 8 points in the first quarter alone. Mardela would take a 19-9 lead into the second quarter Hannah Insley would get going for the home team. She would score 3 buckets off drives to the basket to push her teams lead to 18 at the break. The second half belonged to Armani Banks who got red hot from downtown. She would score all three of her 3’s in the 3rd quarter as Mardela was able to put away the game.
Mardela returns to work Monday when they host Seaford, while Bennett travels to Stephen Decatur on Tuesday.
