Harrington man arrested for bank robbery

Police have arrested a man in connection to the robbery of a WSFS Bank on Commerce Street.
Franklin Sanders, 53, was arrested after police were reportedly alerted of a “hold up alarm” around 9:50 a.m. Saturday. During the robbery, Saunders had allegedly fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.
According to the Harrington Police Department, officers attained a description of the suspect from the tellers and began searching the area with the assistance of officers from the Felton Police Department, Delaware State Police, and the Greenwood Police Department.
Sergeant Adam Gillespie of the Harrington Police Department tells 47 ABC, Sanders was taken into custody without incident on Farmington Road 13 minutes after units were first notified of the incident.
Sanders has been charged with 1st degree robbery and Theft Over $1500.
He was arraigned via video phone at Justice of the Peace Court 7 in Dover and Committed to SCI in lieu of $51,000 secured bond.
