Georgetown man arrested on dui and drug dealing charges in Rehoboth

Police in Rehoboth say a run red light, lead to the arrest of a drug dealer.
Rehoboth Beach Police say around 1:40 AM on Sunday, an Officer pulled over a black Nissan Altima, after it ran a red light at Second Street and Rehoboth Avenue. During the stop, the Officer says they could smell a strong odor of burnt marijuana, and that the driver, 21-year-old Kevin Samaroo, of Georgetown, showed signs of being intoxicated.
Police say Samaroo was given field sobriety tests, which he failed, and was taken into custody. According to the report, Samaroo’s car was then searched, during which nine pills classified as a Schedule IV narcotic, packaging materials consistent with the distribution of marijuana, and drug paraphernalia were found.
Police say during the search, Samaroo urinated in the back of the Officer’s patrol car.
After the search, Police say they charged Samaroo with one count of drug dealing, one count of possession of a controlled substance, one count of consumption of marijuana, three counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, one count of disorderly conduct, one count of driving a vehicle under the influence of a combination of alcohol and any drug, one count of failure to stop at a red light and one count of failure to have insurance identification in possession.
He was later released on a $7,425 unsecured bail.
