Federally mandated changes coming to Salisbury’s housing code

Salisbury’s city council unanimously voted to approve federally mandates changes the city’s occupancy ordinance Monday night.
The changes will allow for four or more unrelated disabled people to live in the same home if the Department of Neighborhood Services approves the group as “functional family”.
This is important because according to the municipal law, no more than 2 unrelated persons can live in the same house unless they are designated as a functional family.
