DUI suspect allegedly runs after crashing into victim

A New Jersey man was arrested this weekend after troopers say, he crashed into a vehicle and then fled the scene.
According to Delaware State Police, at about 5:30 PM on Sunday 50-year-old Robert Addari drove his vehicle northbound in the grass median south of Mulberrie Point Road. Then Addari reportedly drove northbound into the southbound lanes of Bay Road. At the same time troopers say, 32-year-old Megan Rhinehardt, of Harrington, was driving southbound in the left lane of Bay Road and was hit by Addari’s front bumper causing both vehicles to stop in the road.
After the collision Addari reportedly fled on foot toward a field. Troopers say, they were able to track him down in a field east of the crash, near a wooded area. After resisting arrest he was reportedly taken into custody.
Rhinehardt who was reportedly properly restrained was taken to Kent General hospital for her serious but non-life threatening injuries.
Troopers say Addari was not injured.
Addari has been charged with vehicular assault, resisting arrest, DUI, leaving the scene of a collision resulting in injury, driving on the wrong side of the road, and failing to remain within a single lane. Reports say he will remain in custody until his arraignment.
