DSP investigating two bomb threat calls in Sussex County

State Police in Delaware say they are once again investigating bomb threats at a few Sussex County schools. Delaware State Police say they are looking into a pair of bomb threats that were called in a school and a district business office on Monday morning.

The first incident reportedly happened just after 10:00 AM, when an unknown man called the East Millsboro Elementary School on Iron Branch Road, in Millsboro, saying that there was a bomb in the building. Everyone was then evacuated from the school, and bused to a pre-determined location. State Police say, with the help of the Millsboro Police Department, and school administration, they searched the building. Officials say nothing out of the ordinary or suspicious was found, so staff and students were allowed back to resume their daily activities.

Police say the second incident happened just before 10:30 AM, when a man called the Cape Henlopen School District Business Office on Kings Highway, in Lewes, and stated that there was a bomb. Troopers reportedly responded, and searched the building with help of staff, but say nothing out of the ordinary or suspicious was located. Staff then apparently resumed their regular activities.

Police say both incidents remain under investigation at this time. Investigators say it is unknown if these bomb threats are related to the series of bomb threats which have been occurring throughout the state over the past few weeks.
