Del Tech and Salisbury U partner up to help students

Two local schools joined together to help ease the cost of higher education for out-of-state students. Salisbury University officials announced that the school will now be offering $5,000 in annual scholarship funds to eligible Delmarva students.
It’s a part of their Delmarva Partnership Scholarship Program, which is designed to cover 60% of out-of-state tuition at SU compared to in-state-tuition. In a separate effort, Delaware Tech graduates can even earn an additional $1,000, taking a possible $6,000 off of two-years worth of tuition.
“We are excited about the $5,000 scholarship. We think that will really help students,” and “The connected degrees allow them to come seamlessly to the university without having to repeat any courses,” said Beth Skoglund, the director of admissions at SU.
Right now for an in-state student, a years tuition at SU costs just over $9,000. For out-of-state students, over $17,000. Beth tells us the scholarships are available to those who live in the Delmarva area get accepted into SU, and attend classes full-time.
