Blue Raiders Run Past Laurel In Second Half

The Woodbridge boys basketball team picked up a road win Monday night when they traveled to Laurel and pulled out a 61-50 win. The win improves the Blue Raiders to 15-4, while the loss drops the Bulldogs to 12-6.

The teams would be in a battle early on. The Bulldogs would grab a small lead after Brandon Faulk was able to connect on a couple jumpers. The road team then got a boost of energy after Cory Corbin took flight. He would first catch a lob form Ja’mi Ross for a one handed slam, then follow it up with a steal for another dunk. Laurel then would clamp down defensively, and add a couple shots from Eric Pilot. Their good effort would find themselves tied at halftime.

But Woodbridge began to separate in the third. Ross would connect on a couple jumpers, while Hassan Corbin got going, finishing with a game high 22. Then Corbin would put it away in the 4th, after he beat his man off the dribble and would throw down a huge 1 handed slam at the rim.

Woodbridge returns to work on Tuesday when they host Caesar Rodney, while Laurel host Lake Forest on Wednesday.
