Billions expected to be spent for Valentine’s Day

According to the National Retail Federation, only about fifty-five percent of Americans celebrate Valentine’s Day.
On average, people in the U.S. shell out a little more than $146 for the holiday. This money is primarily on the popular items like flowers, dinner and even a little bling. Howevern Rachel Benjamin, the owner of Sweet Serenity Chocolates in Seaford, says you can never go wrong with a sweet treat.
Benjamin continues, “So far today (Friday) has been our busiest day this week. Although, we have been busy all week. Our biggest item this week and this Valentine’s Day is our chocolate covered strawberries. They’re very popular at Valentine’s Day.”
Valentine’s Day spending is expected to hit $19.7 billion this year.
