Band of storms causes power outages across Delmarva

The band of storms that came through Delmarva on Wednesday caused outages across the region. The storm kept much of the region under a tornado watch, but there have been no reports of tornadoes touching down on the Eastern Shore.

Delmarva power is showing it’s strongest outages in the areas of Georgetown, Fenwick Island, Federalsburg,and Seaford.  The outage map reports the power should be restored to those areas between 12:00 and  1:00 AM.  Hundreds of Delmarva power customers in Pocomoke are also experiencing outages, however the map shows that that area should not expect power restoration until 3:30 AM.

For Choptank Electric customers, Caroline County has nearly 1,000 outages according to the outage maps.  The maps also show Maryland Counties: Kent, Queen Anne’s, and Somerset with several hundred outages each.  According to the website these counties should expect restoration by 2:00 AM.

Delaware Electric Co-Op is showing minimal outages across the region.

All of these outages were reported at last check which was at 12:00 AM Thursday.
