Apparent victim testifies in day one of Harry Jones trial

60- year-old Harry Jones’ criminal jury trial began in the Wicomico County Circuit Court on Monday. He’s facing 20 counts for apparently holding a thirty- seven- year- old woman against her will for days in his home on Keyes Lane in Salisbury last June.
In opening statements on Monday, the state argued that the apparent victim went with Jones to his home willingly back in June. However, they claim once she got there things drastically changed.
The state says Jones tied her up by binding her wrists, neck, and ankles with zip ties and rope. They say he held her captive and physically and sexually abused her.
However, the defense argued that this woman made it all up and that everything was consensual. The defense claims the ropes and zip ties were props for their sexual acts.
During the victim’s testimony, she said when she entered Jones’ home on June 13th he hit her in the back of the head with a crow bar and knocked her out. She said her limbs were bound and she couldn’t move when she woke up.
We’re told the apparent victim’s daughter used to date Jones and that was the reason why he took her mother. He apparently wanted to find the daughter.
The apparent victim also went on to note that when Jones would leave the house, he would put her in a bathtub tied up so she couldn’t escape.
On June 16th, when she made her getaway, the apparent victim says she ran out to Old Ocean City Road with her hands flailing in the air begging for someone to help her. The two women that eventually stopped to help her also testified on Monday. They said the woman was scared and crying so they called the police.
The last day of the Harry Jones trial is scheduled for Tuesday.
