Wicomico Co. Sheriff continues to work with FBI in threat investigation

A local sheriff says that they are in contact with the Federal Bureau of Investigations, about the seemingly on-going bomb threat investigations.
On Tuesday, on the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page, Sheriff Mike Lewis released a statement about their investigation into the robo-call bomb threats, made against Wicomico County Schools. Sheriff Lewis says schools in Wicomico and Worcester counties, Western Maryland, Sussex County, Delaware, along with New Jersey and Massachusetts are apparently dealing with similar threats.
The Sheriff’s Office says they used a certified bomb dog to search Salisbury Middle School on Tuesday, after they received a bomb threat robo-call. Sheriff Lewis says that he met with the FBI last week, and has remained in contact with them during this investigation. He goes on to say that his office will be continuing to work closely with the FBI, to ensure the well being of students and staff.
Officials say each case will be looked at one by one. The Sheriff says that decision to have students and staff evacuate or shelter in place, is a joint effort between the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office, and the Wicomico County Board of Education, and is based on information in each of those individual cases.
The Sheriff’s Office says they will remain at schools in the county, and will be continuing to work with the FBI in the on-going investigations.
