While you’re snowed in, snow shouldn’t be on the menu

Anyone who’s picked up a snowball and taken a bite, probably never thought twice about it.
However officials we spoke to Friday, say you probably shouldn’t do that.
“You don’t pick something up off the street and eat it or sidewalk and eat it, so we don’t know what is actually in the snow,” said Jennifer Johnson, public information officer for Wicomico County Health Department.
“The intuitive answer is no, you shouldn’t eat snow,” said Dr. Jim Burns, with Peninsula Regional Medical Center.
A new study released this winter by the Royal Society of Chemistry said the same pollutants that get into the air get into the snow, but at higher a amount.
