War on the Shore Day 2

Over 20 teams, over 300 students, and 6 wrestling mats spread around the school, including the band room. That was the scene on Day 2 of the 14th annual War on the Shore hosted by Stephen Decatur.

Stephen Decatur’s 138 Andy McKahan would take a 5-1 win over Sussex Central’s Max Tolson. Justin Bennett of Sussex Central (145) would win a great match 3-2 against Milford’s Bart Dalious after Bennett was able to hold Dalious from forcing a release. In the 208 division, Sussex Tech’s Marvin Spady was pinned by Good Counsel’s Kevin Snyder in 1:38. In the heavyweight division, Victor Cruz of Sussex Central would win a minor decision 3-2 over Vinnie Schaffer of Archbishop Curley.

In one of the best matches of the day, after almost being pinned twice, Decatur’s Caleb Bourne would pin Lake Braddock’s Rastin Baghari at the 4:58 mark. Woodbridge’s Dominique Pierce defeated Grassfield’s Trevor Burns in a 3-2 minor decision. And Sussex Tech’s Colin Bergh would defeat Mount St. Joeseph’s Dave Hendrix by pin.
