UPDATE: Victim identified in fatal Route 20 collision

Members of the Delaware State Police say they are investigating what caused a fatal crash along Route 20 Thursday afternoon.

According to their report, the driver of a Ford Escape apparently crossed into the path of a Mack truck. Police say the driver of the truck braked, but could not avoid a collision with the oncoming Escape.

Troopers say the driver of the Escape, Lisa Wyatt, 50, of Selbyville, died at the scene. The driver of the Mack truck was treated for minor injuries.

Route 20 between Godwin School Road and Country Living Road was closed for four and half hours as clean-up crews and investigators cleared the scene. DNREC also responded to assist with a minor diesel fuel spill from the truck tanks.
