Police in Cambridge say they have arrested Bruce Lamont Jackson, 24, of Cambridge, in connection to a homicide on Willis Street Thursday night.

Cambridge Police say just after 9:10 PM on Thursday, Officers responded to Willis Street, for reports of a shooting. Once on scene, Officers say they found a man inside of a vehicle, with a gunshot wound to the face. Officials say Officers and EMS Personnel started CPR, who was then rushed to University of Maryland Shore Medical Center at Dorchester. The victim later died.

Police have identified the victim as 55-year-old Willie Green Johnson, of Cambridge. He was apparently slumped over the steering wheel of the vehicle when Officers arrived on scene.

Witnesses on the scene reportedly told Officers that they had seen two men in dark clothing, fleeing from the scene. The investigation reportedly led investigators to execute two search warrants, where they collected evidence which has been sent to the Maryland State Police Crime Lab for processing.

One witness we spoke to, Jessica Matos, said she knew Johnson.

Matos recalled, “He was very friendly, he was always nice. I mean I’ve (caught) cabs a couple times and he was driving. Very friendly, very talkative.”
