UPDATE: Power restored to about 48K

Delmarva Power officials say electric service has been restored to the vast majority of their customers affected by this weekend’s winter storm.
According to Matt Likovich, media relations manager at Delmarva Power, crews had restored service to about 48,700 people as of Sunday.
We’re told the hardest hit areas were in Sussex County, Delaware and Worcester County, Maryland.
“We want to thank all of the individuals, including our emergency service partners, who braved the weather and took time away from their families to fulfill this critical public service,” said Gary Stockbridge, president of Delmarva Power Region.
Customers returning home after being evacuated are reminded that if they’re still out of service, they should report it to Delmarva Power by calling 1-800-898-8042. They can also visit www.delmarva.com.
The company expects full restoration by late Sunday.
