UPDATE: Passenger dies from Milford van crash injuries

A passenger in a van that crashed earlier in January in Milford, has died from injuries sustained in the crash.

Delaware State Police say 29-year-old Virginio Lopez, of Milford died on Saturday. Lopez was the backseat passenger of a 2002 GMC Safari van, driven by Julio Garcia, that hit a street signs, and a tree on Bay Road on Thursday, according to the report.

Garcia was treated for non-life-threatening injuries, while a second passenger, Ruben Martinez, 31 of Milford, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation into this incident, by Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit, is reportedly continuing.
