Nine people were inside of an Easton hair salon on Tuesday, when it went up in flames.

The Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office says the fire started around 2:55 PM, at Studio 2 LLC on North Harrison Street. Fifty five firefighters from Easton Volunteer Fire Department, and the surrounding communities responded to the scene of the two alarm blaze. They reportedly had the flames under control in about two hours.

Nine people were apparently inside of the building when the fire started, but no injuries were reported. Easton Police say when they arrived on scene, they helped clear the adjoining buildings as well. Damages to the three story single family home, that was converted into a hair salon, are estimated to total $200,000.

Investigators say the flames started in brush outside of the home, by carelessly discarded smoking materials.
