UPDATE: All clear after large building fire in Ocean City

Crews have cleared the scene of a large condominium building fire in Ocean City.
According to a spokesperson for the Ocean City Fire Department, fire crews and the public works department responded to a building fire on 140th Street on Tuesday morning around 11, after Officials say several citizens in the area reported a structure fire with heavy black smoke.
The Town of Ocean City says when first responders arrived on scene at the Pelican Beach condominium, they found noticeable flames on the first floor parking garage, and second floor residential units of the five-story building. The flames had also apparently spread to the dune area, on the beach. Responding personnel apparently reported the sound of explosions coming from the area of a work truck and generator on the first floor parking garage.
The Town says at the time of the fire, three maintenance workers were on the roof of the building, but it was otherwise unoccupied. The workers were apparently able to get out of the building, unharmed.
The fire was apparently under control within an hour, but OCFD says they didn’t clear the scene until around 1:30 PM. We’re told the building suffered significant damage, and is not suitable to be occupied, at this time. Two units, and the exterior suffered the most damage. No injuries were report.
The investigation into what caused the blaze, is reportedly on-going by they Ocean City Fire Marshal’s Office.
