Suspect sought following attempted armed robbery in Fruitland

Police are seeking the public’s help in finding a man they say, apparently robbed the Red Fox Market Monday evening. 

Fruitland PD say, a man reportedly entered the Red Fox Market on S. Fruitland Blvd, just before 8 p.m. Monday night. 

Once inside, the suspect reportedly pointed a revolver style handgun at the clerk while demanding cash. The suspect allegedly dove on top of the counter and fired a single round into the floor, nearly missing the clerk. 

Police say the suspect then fled the store on foot and headed westbound, across S. Fruitland Blvd. The suspect was reportedly a black male, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and dark colored pants and shoes. 

Police are currently following up on several tips and evidence left behind at the scene, but are asking anyone that may have more information to call 410-548-2803.
