Spot 5 planets

Take a look up at the sky just before sunrise to see something that hasn’t happened in over a decade. About 45-90 minutes before sunrise glace to the south and spot 5 planets in the sky! Look at the picture above for where to look and what planets are which. Jupiter will rise in the late evening hours (around 9 pm), Mars rises just after midnight, then Saturn, Venus, and Mercury will make their appearances through the early AM hours. Venus will be the brightest object in the east sky just before sunrise and Jupiter would be the second brightest and is higher in the sky. The 5 planets can be seen in the pre-dawn sky until February 20th, 2016.
The last time this happened was from Mid-December 2004 to mid-January 2005. These 5 celestial bodies are the same ones that were spotted by our ancestors hundreds and thousands of years ago. If you can’t find time to view the 5 planets in the next month, we get another brief chance from August 13th to August 19th of this year (2016). Enjoy!
