Sheriff’s deputies piecing together the night Justin Barney was killed

Sheriff’s deputies are still trying to piece together the night 34 year-old Justin Barney was killed. Charging documents against Kryshonna Jones, who is the only suspect in the case go into detail about their final meeting Monday night before authorities arrived. Authorities were called to Jones’ home for a report of a stabbing. According to the charging documents, authorities found Barney alive with a stab wound on his upper chest.
According to court documents, Jones told members of the Dorchester County Sherrif’s Office were outside discussing child custody. That’s when later Barney started asking Jones about the new man in her life. She did not want to talk about it so she decided to walk off, that’s when Barney collapsed to the ground.
Jones reportedly claimed they both pushed each other until she said to stop because “he was bleeding.”Documents show he spoke with hospital authorities stating “he was at his baby momma’s house in Salisbury ” when he was stabbed. In the court documents, the family confirmed that “Barney does not to travel to Salisbury to visit with any children nor do any of his children nor do any of the children’s mothers reside in Salisbury. Barney later died from his injuries in the hospital.
47 ABC spoke with a family member of Barney’s off camera Wednesday, who says they are still trying to wrap their head around what happened.
Authorities confirmed that the pair did have a child together. The last post on Jones’ Facebook page was on Tuesday morning before her arrest. The post was a picture with the statement :*RIP my love …Watch over your 1 & only daughter Jay & me. We love you!”
However, what was missing from her Facebook page was statements were earlier posts seen by deputies stating “I really don’t wanna kill nobody.”
Sheriff James Phillips tells 47 ABC they have recovered the murder weapon, but would not say exactly how they believe the stabbing happened. One thing that is clear Jones now facing hefty charges, including first degree murder, second degree murder, reckless endangerment, wearing and carrying a dangerous weapon with intent to injure, first degree assault, and second degree assault.
A search of 20 year-old Kryshonna Jones’ past criminal history doesn’t reveal much.
It appears someone filed a peace order against her last year, but it was dismissed because the petitioner never showed up in court. Jones is currently being held without bond – and is expected in court next month.
