Seahawks Soar Past Wi-Hi On Road

The Stephen Decatur boys basketball team earned a road win Tuesday night when they traveled to Wi-Hi and pulled out a 82-66 win. The win improves the Seahawks to 11-2, while the loss drops the Indians to 6-6.
Stephen Decatur would jump out to a quick lead as Ja’Quan Johnson was going to work. he would score lay in after lay in early. The Tribe would come firing back though, as Davonta Dixon would get out in transition and attack the basket for a few scores, and Jojo Brittingham would connect on a couple jumpers. The lead for Wi-Hi would grow in the second quarter after Barry Gaines Jr. added a couple fast break scores and hit the offensive glass for a couple easy put backs. The game quickly swung at the midway point of that quarter though. Decatur would be the aggressors and get several friendly calls. They began to then connect on a couple outside shots as Torrey Brittingham hit a three ball from the right wing, followed by a baseline 3 from Ryan Beach. The Indians bench would react to the refs, drawing a technical foul as all of the sudden, the Seahawks would build a 10 point lead. They would go to halftime up 41-33. The lead would grow to 20 in the second half before the Tribe would go on a run, but they could never get back over the hump.
Wi-Hi returns to work Thursday when they travel to Pocomoke, while Decatur travels to Cambridge SD on Friday.
