Ross Leads The Way As Mardela Tops Washington

The Mardela girls basketball team picked up a road win Tuesday when they traveled to Washington and defeated the Jaguars 61-47. The win improves the Warriors to 7-5, while the loss drops the Jaguars to 4-8.

The Warriors would grab a small lead early on as Taylor Ross would be able to hit a couple of outside jumpers, while also getting to the rack in transition for a few easy scores. As the began to swell, Washington would go on a run led by their dynamic freshmen. Danasia Roberts would pour in a game high 34 points as she would bring her team within 6 points with 4 minutes to go.  Mardela though would make the plays down the stretch as they hit their free throws and were able to get stops defensively to hold on for the win.

Mardela returns to work Thursday when they travel to Snow Hill, while Washington travels to Wi-Hi on Thursday.
