Road ‘Dawgs Earn Win At Salisbury Christian

The Laurel boys basketball team hit the road Monday night and picked up a win at Salisbury Christian 54-29. The win improves the Bulldogs to 6-3.

The Bulldogs would jump out to a quick lead as they were able to force a few turnovers on the perimeter that would lead to easy transition lay ins. Shyheim Holden’s aestheticism as a big allowed him to work his way around post players to steal passes down low, and then his ball handling ability allowed him to convert those steals into easy buckets as he finished with a team high 17 points. The ‘Dawgs would take a 23-13 lead into halftime. The Jaguars would finally be able to find their offensive rhythm in the second half. Danny Kang would attack the basket and finish through the contact for an and 1 to cut the deficit to single digits. But Laurel would be able to close the door. Brandon Faulk would follow up a missed shot for 2, then get a steal and convert for a dunk at the other end.

Laurel returns to action Tuesday when they host Holly Grove, while Salisbury Christian plays Gunston Day on Wednesday.
