Road crews applying salt in downstate Del.

State officials say roads in downstate Delaware are getting slick, and crews from the Delaware Department of Transportation are applying salt.

The salting operation began Sunday afternoon in Kent and Sussex counties.

Transportation officials say that while temperatures are hovering in the mid-30s, steady snowfall is creating slippery conditions on many roads.

The department says crews will keep working until the weather improves and roads are clear.
