Princess Anne resident displaced after house fire

A kitchen fire in a Princess Anne home, has been ruled as accidental.
The Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office says the fire started around 4:10 AM Monday, inside of the kitchen of the James Lane home. After the owner discovered the flames, 20 firefighters from Princess Anne, Mount Vernon, and Deal Island responded to the two alarm blaze, at the one story home.
The crews reportedly had the fire under control in about an hour and a half. Investigators say the fire was caused by the home’s electrical system, and has been ruled as accidental.
Damages are estimated to total $100,000. Officials say the owners were displaced by the fire, and are being assisted by family members.
