Police investigating armed robbery of 7-Eleven

Police are looking for a suspect believed to be involved with an armed robbery of a 7-Eleven.

Authorities say they responded to the E. Main Street shop shortly after 2:00 a.m. Sunday for a reported armed robbery.

An investigation has revealed that a male suspect entered the store just prior to the reported robbery and left soon after entering. The suspect allegedly then re-entered the store approximately 10 minutes later with his face covered with a hood and jacket. Authorities say this was in an effort to disguise his identity.

We’re told the suspect immediately approached the only employee who was working and demanded money, indicating he was armed.

Authorities say the suspect was given an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency before fleeing the area on foot.

There were no injuries reported during the incident.

Police describe the suspect as a black male, approximately 5’9″ to 5’10” with a medium build. He was last reportedly seen wearing a black coat, blue jeans and toboggan type hat.
