Police say a 23-year-old man suspected of drunk driving was arrested after an overnight crash Sunday.
Around 12:14 a.m. Sunday, authorities say 23-year-old Dillon Davis was traveling northbound on Long Neck Road approaching Bay Road when he lost control as he attempted to round a curve.
According to police, Davis’ car left the roadway and struck a tree where it came to rest.
A 42-year-old male passenger and a 21-year-old female passenger in his car were both removed from the scene by EMS and transported to the Beebe Medical Center.
Police say they were both later airlifted to the Christiana Hospital Trauma Center where they are being treated for serious injuries.
Davis, who was not injured in the crash, was transported to Troop 7 where a DUI investigation ensued.
He was later arrested and charged with Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, two counts of Vehicular Assault 1st Degree, Possession of Marijuana (3 grams), and three counts of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Police say Davis was committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution in default of $6501.00 secured bail.
