Outreach groups team up to help homeless in bad weather

As many are cozying up in their warm homes tonight, that is unfortunately not the case for many.  That is why 50k souls outreach is teaming up with The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen to give a safe haven to those in need.

The outreach groups rented out the Calloway Street Gym to host the homeless overnight.  Normally a place for people to work out and shoot some hoops, it has been transformed into a place for the homeless to sleep and get something to eat.

Mandel Copeland of 50k Souls Outreach says that it’s just a humbling experience to have the opportunity to help others.

Jermichael Mitchell of League of Extraordinary Gentleman says “we just felt like you know there are some homeless people out there this weekend that needed a place to be that’s warm- so we felt like we could provide that space.”

The groups will try to do this for as many bad storms as they can.
