Maryland lawmakers to start early to get ahead of snowstorm

(AP) – Maryland lawmakers want to get in and out early ahead of a big snowstorm in the forecast.

Leaders in both chambers decided Thursday to gather an hour earlier than usual when they convene on Friday.

That’ll be 10 a.m., instead of 11 a.m.

While it’s early in the session, and neither chamber has a lot scheduled for Friday, leadership wanted to try to get a jump on the weather.

Maryland residents have been scrambling to prepare for up to 2 feet of snow expected to begin Friday across the Mid-Atlantic region.
