Lt. Calloway named Millsboro Police chief

After 18 years with the Millsboro Police Department and about four months filling in as Police Chief, Lieutenant Brian Calloway is now the man in charge.

47 ABC spoke with the newly-named Chief Calloway earlier today who took his new position earlier this month.

He tells us that serving as the active police chief for the department has allowed for an easy transition however there have been a few small challenges.

Calloway says he is big on transparency and trust, which is made easier through recognizing the work of current officers.

“I think a lot of times that it’s forgotten what some of our officers do. Hopefully with that it will develop retention and keep some of our people here.”

Chief Calloway says he will be running the department’s 4th citizens police academy in March.
