Kings of the Henlopen, Dover Tops Milford

The Dover boys basketball team picked up a big road win Thursday night when they traveled to Milford and topped the Buccaneers 68-54. The win improves the Senators to 9-3, while the loss drops the Bucs to 7-4.
The Bucs would be in a battle early on but be able to grab a slight edge. Brion Murray would score an and 1 in the post to open the game, then Henry Neismith would add a couple buckets. Once they got going, Son Martinez would be able to connect on a couple outside shots. Dover would come storming back on the hot hand of Jordan Allen though, who connected on a pair of long balls in the first, and then watched as Terrance Woodlin would go to work on the block. The senior either scored a bucket himself, or was able to find Thomas Hoskins for a few easy buckets. They would take a 6 point lead into the second quarter and continue to battle there as Dover would maintain that lead most the quarter. The game would remain within 10 points through most the third quarter as well, til finally Allen was able to help create some breathing room for the road team. He would hit a pull up in transition, and then have the exclamation mark on the game, as he had a huge follow dunk just before the buzzer going into the 4th. Milford would be able to cut the deficit to just 7 in the last frame, but could never get over the hump.
Dover returns to work Saturday when they travel to play Pemberton, while Milford travels to play Delmar on Tuesday.
