Kevin Sewell appears in court for criminal motions hearing

Kevin Sewell, the Pocomoke City man charged in the death of his three year old nephew, had a criminal motions hearing Wednesday morning.

On Wednesday, Sewell’s attorney made a motion for the court to eliminate the text messages shared between him and his wife Amanda, who is also involved in this case.

That state is in possession of those text messages and plans to use them during Sewell’s trial. Sewell’s attorney is arguing that these messages are confidential marital communications and shouldn’t be used in court.

The judge said he would need a couple days to look over the case and then decide if those text messages can be used.

Sewell was indicted in November on first and second degree murder charges, first degree child abuse that results in the death of a minor, and neglect of a minor.
