Immanuel Shelter in need of donations

The Immanuel Shelter in Rehoboth Beach is in the midsts of code purple. We’re told they’ve been at their 30 person capacity every night and are in need of donations.
The highest items in demand are boots, sugar, men’s jeans, paper goods and water. The president of the shelter’s board of director’s, Janet Ideam, says monetary donations are gratefully accepted.
Unlike many other shelters operated by volunteers, Immanuel has a fulltime staff. They use monetary donations to pay them.
Idema says. “We’re a very big transient resort area and we’re also an area for a a lot of retirees like myself. You know in the old days I could stay up all night, but now I really can’t anymore. After about eight o’clock at night I’d say that’s where our biggest need is.”
The Imanuel Shelter is open seven days a week from 4:30 p.m. until 7:30 a.m.
