Health official says don’t worry too much about Zika coming to Delmarva

According to Dr. James Cockey with the Wicomico County Health Department, two types of mosquitoes that carry the Zika virus are common in Maryland.
He tells us there’s reason for concern about the disease given its possible affects. But there’s a better chance of other more serious viruses affecting those on the peninsula.
“My level of worry about Zika spreading is pretty low,” said Dr. Cockey, “It is likely that more tropical disease will come north,”
He says the Dengue and Chikungunya viruses present more of a threat at this time than the Zika virus.
