Harbeson outbuilding total loss after Sunday fire

The cause of a weekend outbuilding fire in Harbeson, is under investigation.

The Indian River Volunteer Fire Company says on Sunday, they, along with the Lewes and Millsboro fire companies responded to a house fire on Beaver Dam Road, between Indian Mission Road and Falcon Crest.

Officials say once on scene, they found an outbuilding on the farm house property, that was full engulfed. The building reportedly held a variety of commodities, include livestock.

The IRVFC says although the worked hard to extinguish the blaze, most the structure was considered a complete loss. No people were injured in fire, but five goats died. The Delaware State Fire Marshal’s Office is reportedly investigating the incident.
