Fatal crash near Milford closes parts of Route 1

Members of the Delaware State Police say they are currently on the scene of a fatal motor vehicle crash on the southbound lane of Bay Road (Route 1) just north of Cicada Lane Road.

Troopers say the crash was a single-vehicle crash, and one person has died at the scene.

The State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit is on scene as of about 6:45 P.M., and will assume the investigation.

According to State Police, southbound traffic is currently being diverted onto Old Cemetery Road north of the crash and commuters are advised to seek alternate routes of travel.
