Events scheduled for MLK day

Friday would have marked Martin Luther King Jr’s 87th birthday, and the day honoring Doctor King is this upcoming Monday. Here on Delmarva there are a few events happening.

The Wicomico Youth and Civic Center is holding two events, the 30th annual youth activity, where youth speakers from the Salisbury high school association are set to speak, give praise, dance and sing. That is set to take place from 8:30 AM to noon.

The second event, the 31st annual MLK birthday celebration and commemoration banquet starts at 6:30 PM. Tickets to the banquet are $35 each.

Other events are set to take place in Dover and include, a King Day of Service 5K Run, a day of peace event, MLK Million Meter Marathon as well as others. For more information visit http://www.volunteerdelaware.org/
