Easton’s Noticing Wi-Hi’s Gaines

The Wi-Hi boys basketball team hit the road Tuesday night and pulled out a great road win at Easton 58-46. The win improves the Indians to 5-5, while the loss drops the Warriors to 6-5.

The Indians would take an early lead after Barry Gaines Jr. was able to control the paint. Coming up with several offensive rebounds and put backs and scoring underneath to get his team going. After he got a couple shots to drop, Jojo Brittingham would be able to add a couple scores as well. The Warriors would come firing back though. Ryan Farr would connect on a couple shots from beyond the arc while also getting to the rack for a lay in. Jack Wheatley would then find his shot as he would pour in 5 of his team high 11 points in the first half to help Easton to within 3 at the break. But the Tribe would pull away with a big run in the 3rd quarter, powered by Gaines who finished with a game high 27 points.

Wi-Hi returns to work Thursday when they host Bennett, while Easton host Cambridge SD on Thursday.
